Saluki Health

Welcome to the Saluki Club of Canada's Health Committee web pages.

We hope to offer an educational overview of the Saluki and general health issues that can affect our breed.

Our charter is to provide information on frequently asked questions, articles and other information that pertain to the general health and well being of the Saluki. We in no way condone using this information as an alternate to regular veterinary care, nor do we offer any veterinary advice, as we strongly feel that no online resource can replace regular veterinary care.

We hope to that this information will give you an overview that can be taken to your veterinarian for a more in depth discussion on the health of your individual dog.

The Saluki Club of Canada’s Health Committee was very pleased with the response to our Health Survey. We had a few glitches with the software which meant some of the questions got split onto two lines, thus looking like there were two possible questions when in fact there was only one. Other than that, the survey software ran well and we will definitely look at utilizing it again. The results of the survey have been posted here and we invite your feedback or comments. To that end, we have also posted the results to our blog where ‘Comments’ are enabled. If you wish to participate in comments, it is simply a matter of clicking in the comment box, filling in your details and submitting your comment. It would be interesting to have feedback from the Saluki Community on a) the results of the survey and b) whether you think further surveys of this kind would be useful and if so c) on which topics. You can visit the blog survey here.
